Race? What happened to Escape?

Disney is revisiting the Witch Mountain stuff. Remember Escape from Witch Mountain from the 70s? The kids were witches, except they were really aliens? They had to discover their identity and be called witches by the locals. Then grandpa Walton showed up in a flying saucer for the big twist at the end.

This time around, the kids seem to already know they are witches aliens. And they do cool stuff that Disney couldn't do back in 1975. Unfortunately they've moved the location from Kentucky to Vegas.

Oh well, I guess if there have to be Aliens, vegas makes some sort of sense.

I think "Escape to Witch Mountain" was the first movie I can remember seeing in a theater. As a kid, it was a mystery right up to the end, even with the immortal line, "It has something to do with the phone book!" It sure is hard to work *that* into a conversation.

My favorite Disney line is from Bedknobs and Broomsticks, that other "witch" movie starring Angela Landsbury…

one of the kids on the flying bed after twisting the bedknob: "But what's that got to do with my knob?"

Although, you may be right. It may be easier to work that into a conversation than the phone book thing.
