Today at lunch, our group from the church was eating when a transgendered woman came up to us to ask us if we were the group she had planned to meet there. We were not, so we invited her to sit with us.
We bought her lunch and included her in the chit chat going around the table. I don't know if we'll see her again, but I hope we do.
She was in tears at the end of lunch, she said she had never had a church group (or anyone for that matter) just include her and make sure she was fed and comforted.
That's amazing to me. I know it's true, but how much does that suck that other churches have run a hungry person away just because of the way she looked or didn't fit into their little idea of what people are supposed to be like?
Church is supposed to be about forgiveness and love and aspiring to help others. I'm so happy that I'm part of a church family that gets it.

you stated with "Today at lunch" and i was sure it was going to continue with "at McDonalds" i'm amazed it didn't.
Other than that… what's wrong with transgendered?
I totally agree. The Bible tells us Jesus died for all of us, not those of us who fit a certain "norm."
