iPhone Suckage

Generic Album ArtI still love my iPhone. It's still the best phone I've ever had. It still does amazing things. But it has a couple of things that are beginning to really bug me.

For one, I am wondering why Apple hasn't made a better generic picture for the current song. A huge portion of my iTunes was ripped from my CDs, and a huge portion of those don't have online album art. Until recently I've been semi-satisfied with the big gray screen shown here, but with the advent of iTunes 8 I'm wondering why Apple can't display the generic genre picture when a song plays on the iPhone. The generic genre pictures are colorful and look nice in iTunes 8, but we still get an ugly gray screen on the iPhone.

So that's not such a big deal, but this is: Mobile Me keeps erasing my contact info. Things are fine for days, and then I'll pull my phone out to use it and all the people will still be there without any phone numbers. This means all my recent calls and all my favorites and all my SMS messages and so on are listed by Phone Number. No names to associate with numbers because the names in my contacts don't have any numbers in them.

I used to think it'd fix itself in an hour or so, but the way it's behaving lately is that it won't fix itself until I have a WiFi connection. That really sucks. It sucks enough for me to stop using Mobile Me and go back to the sucky syncing over the USB cable. The numbers just go away while I'm out on the road and don't come back until I'm close to a base station.

When is this going to be fixed? Has anyone else seen this kind of problem?

I still love my phone. I'm still not too sure about the push stuff tho.

I think it was Scotty in "Star Trek III" who said, "the more complicated the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain."
