Give the universe a Macintosh. Give the universe a bunch of tools. It turns into a free-for-all. Sometimes, someone uses those tools and does something creative and even cute. This is one of those times.
So for those of you out there who haven't made the switch to Mac, yet, each of the noises in this composition are system beeps that you can choose for audio feedback when you have an error or some pre-defined event. At least one of the noises there is what I have set for my "new mail" sound.
More than that, the composition was made and is displaying from a little included-with-the-mac application called Garage Band.
Best of all, if you're not a mac-head (I'm talking to you Gary Lake), you can still enjoy the composition on the "listening to this reminds me of the early days of video games" level.
It is available for download both as a .zip for the Garage Band files and as a .m4a for your iTunes collection and various iDevices.
