I have been watching pieces and snatches of the DNC this week on the blogosphere. I have to say it just seems like a lot of saber rattling, cheerleading, patting each other's backs, etc.
But President Bill Clinton had an amazing speech last night that showed poise and grace, making me long for the day when we had a president who could speak in front of a crowd without making up words and sounding stupid all over the place.
One phrase that I think should be lifted from Bill's speech was this gem:
People all over the world are increasingly impressed more by the power of our example than by the example of our power.
I love that. I almost gave him a standing ovation at my desk when I saw it on the podcast.

I could not agree more. I was listening on the radio and can not remember EVER being so moved by a line from a speech. Not only does it ring so true, but it strikes directly at what I feel has been the largest failing of the Bush administration.
