Today on the way to work I saw the driver of a Prius flick a cigarette butt out their window onto the ground. I wondered why they drive a Prius if they are so willing to pollute.
Yesterday I had a long discussion about cigarettes with my youth group. The kids at the church are very much into letting folks do their own thing, even if it means harming their own bodies. I reminded them that second hand smoke kills too, and they weren't too sure what to do with that. The discussion lasted only about 10 minutes, but it was intense.
I wonder why something that has zero health benefit and lots of proven harm is still legal in our country. It must be politics.
Even Al Gore expresses regrets over growing tobacco and watching his sister die of lung cancer in that movie/keynote presentation he made.
I wonder how much cigarette smoke contributes to global warming, assuming of course that global warming actually exists. I mean if a dozen smoking people or so can stink up a room and make it uninhabitable, what are the millions of cigarettes doing to our environment?
…and that's just the smoke. I'm not even counting the butts thrown on the ground by people like the Prius poser in the top paragraph.

Flick a cigarette butt out the window here in Colorado, and the cops may pull you over. Big fire dangers, those things.
It's most infuriating to see someone dump a whole ashtray full of butts onto the road. If that's not enough to trigger road rage, I don't know what is.
