Why oh why can't my Mac sync addresses and calendar items to my iPhone over bluetooth? Wasn't Apple one of the early adopters of the technology? Couldn't I sync my last two (not smart) phones to my address book without having to plug in a cable?
Why do you suppose it's not an option with the iPhone? When the cable is plugged in, it is a beautiful thing. It syncs all my calendars and address book data. Since I manage my music collection on another machine, but manage my contacts and calendar on my MacBook, it seems like It'd be a normal thing to just sync those text based items over bluetooth.
So while the iPhone is a quantum leap forward, it's a few steps backward in that regard.
Oh well.

That's a common theme. No matter how much improved the newer generation is, there's always something lost from the previous. I wonder if that's a universal constant?
You've been around for a long, long, long, loooong time now. Think about the vast array of technological do-dads you've had ever since the LBJ administration, even cars can cooking tools. Can you think of one example where the immediately following "upgrade" is a total 100% improvement over the previous version?
