I've been enjoying my newest computer since last Friday at around 6pm. You know, Friday, June 29. Some are calling them "Jesus Phones," while the rest of us simply say iPhone.
I do like it a lot. While it's not perfect, it is still very cool. I liked my RAZR when I first got it, but after a few minutes I put it in my pocket and only took it out when I needed the phone. The iPhone,on the otherhand, has only been put away when I actually had to do something else.
I'm sure it must be annoying for the people who don't have one yet, but I'll use any excuse to get it out and use it. Not because I want to show off, but because it is actually fun to use.
Even better, I've done all sorts of things with it (checked traffic, weather, stocks, loaded 5,000 phone numbers and email addresses, SMS'd, Googled names of suburbs around Phoenix, AZ, taken and emailed photos, even discovered a great series from BBC called "Balls of Steel" on youTube) without even taking the manual out of the box. That seems to me like Apple has another "win" in the intuitive spaces corner.
Yes, there are some glitches. The biggest one for me is the missing spam filter. Even a simple junk mail option like they have in Mac OS X Mail would be welcome. The other glaring ommision to me is the lack of flash support. I'm hoping these are both things Apple will rectify soon with a software update.
As for my never wanting to put it away, Teej is laughing at me right now because I haven't even got out of bed yet and I'm happily typing away on my iPhone. So now I really can enjoy blogging from anywhere.
And isn't that what iNdependence is all about?
