Ten years ago, if you told me I'd ever go to a Nine Inch Nails concert I would have argued with you. Five years ago I would have considered it and then passed. Tonight I went.
All I can say is wow. This is a group who can entertain. If you're not offended by the F word, then you will be in for a treat. I say you have to not be offended by that word because I don't think there is a single NIN song that only uses it once.
Closer, Hurt, Only, The Hand That Feeds, the list goes on and on.
Hi Energy, really cool lights, hot goth boys everywhere, it was an evening of entertainment, let me tell you. I think it may be the best rock concert I've ever seen.
And as if that weren't enough, one of the opening bands was Bauhaus! I was briefly excited, but then when they didn't perform Bela Lagosi's Dead, it all seemed rather pointless.

Welcome to the dark-side….. Your make-up will be ready shortly…
you know, I talked to some folks about tattooing my bald head for the show, but we couldn't come up with anything that could be applied within a couple of hours and removed before teaching sunday school the next morning. it was raining, so I needed something that wouldn't run…
You know, I fear tatoos. I've been on a momlist since I was preggers with Sara, and all the women have gone from "Oh, my heart tatoo is stretching!! Or "I had to take out my (bellybutton, nipple ring, scarier body part) ring for the rest of this pregnancy, boohoo)
To: "I can't believe our insurance refuses to cover any of this tatoo removal" or " My three year old asked me why that red frisbee was on my hip (started life as a rose, then travelled)" **shudders** Can you imagine what all Mick Jaggers must look like now??
*****Hugs Tracy****
Missed you, big guy.
Tia, Mel
i agree completely. the word I left out in the previous comment about the tattoo was "temporary" – as in I only wanted my head painted for the concert, not for the rest of my life.
Henna! Paul you should have used Henna! As someone who lives at Renne Faires they wash off if you wash enough.
If not.. tell the sunday schoolers you went to a hindu wedding?
I didn't want to have to scrub and scrub and scrub, thus making my head pink. henna would have been good for a prolonged temporary solution. and I might consider it for Halloween, unless I go as uncle fester, again.
I'm not sure if Henna really fits the spirit of NIN but you would be the one to stand out. I never found any thing I wanted on me for life so no tats here. And hugs right back Mel. Missed you too. Been traveling the last few months. Havent seen any of your entertaining posts over at LJ in awhile was getting concerned. Paul next show you could go with the tiger/lepard stripe theme for your head. You'll also have to get one of the mesh t-shirts and a pair of leather pants…..oh yes and a cape you'll have to get a cape…Did Bauhaus at least to Ziggy Stardust. On their last final tour "we really mean it this time" we got Ziggy and Bela. Sounds as if they are just not trying anymore.
Latters
Tracy the only concerts you are allowed at are Styx concerts. ::ducks::
I'm not sure the world is ready for me in a mesh t-shirt and leather pants. Does the cape need to be black on the outside and red or purple or something on the inside?
evil eye to Kim
Got to hate when you have a well thought out post and when you send it all but the 1st line disapears.
Anyway as I was saying I've now at the point that I've seen more concerts than I can remember. Old age or too many concerts…..you tell me…. None of which was STYX. Last one was Lacuna Coil and Rob Zombie…not a bad pairing. Yep Paul red or purple lining is a must just part of the rules I didn't make them but I have to live with them. Well I think this is the just of the lost post less or more. so I'll leave it at that. And Paul if Peter Murphy ever comes to town on a solo tour dont miss it…much better that Bauhaus. IMHO…
I agree. I wanted to hear Socrates the Python but of course, that's a Peter Murphy song and not a Bauhaus song. That's why I never went to see the Buzzcocks, I knew they wouldn't perform any of the Pete Shelley greats…
The Jam is the same for me.. You know there wont be any Paul Weller songs in the set..Have listened to She Wants Revenge…not too bad for a 80's throw back..
