I saw the movie "Why We Fight" tonight at Cinema 21.
I understand it's opening at the Fox Towers tomorrow, in downtown Portland. Go see it.
I don't care if you are a Republican, a Democrat, and Tree Hugger or just Miscellaneous. It will depress you. But it's full of stuff that needs to be said.
I'm even more saddened because I know many people will skip it and just dismiss it as propaganda. Like my family, for instance. They all voted for GWBush and get very defensive when anyone asks a question about why he is doing something. They won't go see it.
It builds a very good case that American Imperialism is happening right under our noses. We are not being vigilant. We are allowing the military-industrial complex to take over our politics. It showed clips of Eisenhower warning us that this could happen. It quoted George Washington warning us that this could happen. It showed tons of footage that just makes you cringe when you realize that this is happening.

So any other conspiracy theorists wonder why Eisenhower's eyes keep darting to the right during his speech in the clip above? Seems a little fishy…
Maybe it's because Dick Cheney's grandfather was hunting quail in the next room.
Or maybe the teleprompters weren't as transparant in 1961 as they are today…
