A GPS receiver is like a radio, it only receives signals and then figures out what to do with them. If you are worried about being traced on the internet, then you should stop using Internet Explorer and really know what your doing with a PC (or get a Mac) because there are lots of ways to trace you there that don't involve anything remotely connected to GPS. not if it's just a GPS receiver.
