My nephew has now officially failed out of both high school and college. He may have failed out of other schools and institutions as well, I'm not really sure. I don't really care if he tries to continue his education, but it is annoying that he can't seem to find a job either. The most annoying part is that he can't seem to finish anything.
There's a lot of Texas Family Laundry I could air here, but I won't. I don't think it'll do any good to do so. So I'm really just venting.
What do you do with a kid who is basically good, but very lazy? How do you get him to focus his life on anything when he gives up on everything after 5 minutes? He loves playing video games, but when you try to show him how to write them, he gets bored. He likes to be the center of attention and he doesn't seem to mind whether it's negative or positive when he's getting it. The list goes on and on. He's a true consumer and has no direction. It's kind of like he's 8 instead of 20.
I don't think he understands the payoff you get when you see things all the way through.
Maybe someday he'll get there. But I'm not going to hold my breath. I hope he does it in the next 20 or 30 years so I can be around to torment him with pictures of how he is now.
