I've lived in my house now for about 4 months. In that time I have called The Oregonian 7 times to have my address blacklisted so they will stop throwing free papers.
Guess what, today I got another one.
Does anyone out there on the internet know how to make them actually stop delivering garbage into my yard? I don't even bring them inside anymore. I just throw them directly into the recycle bin, plastic bag and all.

try hanging out on the street corner and throw the paper at traffic. It won't stop them from coming, but it's immensly satisfying.
