I'm going to start campaigning for a True Defense of Marriage Act (TDOMA). What is the TDOMA you might ask? Well, let me tell you.
I think GWBush, and all the other super conservative freaks (sorry mom) out there are not pointing at the right thing – as usual.
"Terrorism from Al Queda? let's bomb Iraq", "Energy commision, let's hire Enron", "I have no ties to Haliburton…", and "Gay people are infecting the institution of marriage."
HA! It's all spin. spin spin spin. Effective marketing.
The only infection I see on marriage is divorce. If Marriage is so sacred, why is it legal to get divorced?
I believe it's time to start an Anti-Divorce campaign. If straight conservative people are so certain I shouldn't be allowed to marry the person I love, then I believe they shouldn't be allowed to marry more than one of the people they love. Seems simple enough. Why should we allow them to marry a second, third, fifth, whatever time when 10% of americans are not allowed to marry once?
So, my proposal for a TDOMA is to cut thru the misdirection and spin from the politicians. Let's go after the institution's true cancer instead of something totally unrelated. Cancel Divorce. Force Britney Spears to live with her husband that she married when she was drunk on a binge in Vegas. Make the people who live in glass houses stop throwing stones. Then, and only then will Marriage truely be defended.
