Well, the house closed and was funded and now I'm an official homeowner in Portland, Oregon. Yay!
The whole thing was relatively painless but there were a couple of scary moments right at the end. As it all turned out, everything went just fine and I got the keys on schedule on Friday at 5pm.
The guy who's living in the house is moving out now, literally, right now, and I will be able to start moving in after the cleaning woman comes tomorrow. Yes, he said he was sending his cleaning woman over tomorrow.
So soon enough, I'll be in my own little cabin in the woods, only not in the woods. It's near down town Portland and it's in an area where I'll be able to rent out the second unit very easily.
Next time you're up my way, give me a holler and come by and see it! I'll be posting pictures of it later in the week.
