The most boring job in the world

Today I went with my father to Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River to watch the salmon swim up the fish ladder. It was cool.

I've been there before, many times, but today was the first time during "salmon season".

The fish were running. Each window had a handful of fish swimming by at any given time.

The poor fish guys who work there have to count and identify the fish as they go by. One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Not! They post numbers every day showing how many fish went by yesterday and how many this year and how many 10 years ago.

Can you imagine sitting there all day, counting the fish as they go? Not me. I work on the internet where I can sit in front of a computer screen for 14 hours a day.

yay. priorities and all that.
