God Blessed Texas

guns God Blessed TexasWow. I'm back in Texas tonight. yippee. There's no basement at the Alamo. and it's 72° and h-u-m-i-d. I miss Oregon. sigh.

Here are some fun Texas Facts:

Texas is in the process of passing a new gun law so you can carry your gun to work as long as you leave it locked in the car. My brother tells me that a new law is going into effect that makes it legal for a driver to shoot passengers in his car, as long as it's self defense.

Businesses here fire employees for having tattoos. Likewise for men with pierced ears (or belly buttons or eyebrows or any piercings whatsoever).

The list goes on, but I just can't believe any of it. It's like I've gone sideways in time to a place where people are going to believe what they want no matter what anyone else says. It's just creepy here.

the ability to compare an inconvenient truth to harry potter…hey..not too many other states can pull that one off, am I right?

Just remember–Don't Mess With Texas! (cause we'll shoot you if you do!)

Can I bring my gun to work if I work at a school with Zero Tolerance?

yes, if the law passes, you can take the gun to school, but you have to leave it locked in your car.

that way, your students can break in to your car and be armed.

Well, yes, duh, my kids..but some of my FRIENDS, too…except then they'll go to school and someone will have broken into a teacher's car and will be armed…
