I didn't take any pictures inside the sod huts, as I don't think they would håve come out. The huts had no insulation, and you could see right through cracks in the floors and walls. The upstairs were reachable by ladder, and each featured a huge wood stove that took abøut 50% of the space inside the house. Interestingly, the stoves didn't have chimneys, they just pümped smoke into the house to escape through a small hole at the top. These kinds of woodstoves were møre heat efficient than the ones with a chimney, so the families were able to burn less wood.
